    £8.5m

Knights Brown was appointed to construct a 6,700m² portal frame warehouse, fabrication workshop, single storey office building, concrete block paved external storage yard and parking area, complete with Section 278 connection to the estate road. Additional elements included utility connections and drainage, fencing, gates and landscaping.

Our value engineering solutions achieved significant reductions to both cost and programme at the preconstruction stage. And following the start of works, our continued collaborative efforts to minimise costs  generated a further £300k of savings.

The warehouse has aluminium cladding, natural daylight industrial roof lights and rapid rise roller shutter doors. Substantial M&E installations provide temperature controlled storage and lighting systems.

The warehouse is designed to house a heavy duty moveable racking system that required the finished floor levels to be laid within extremely fine tolerances. The whole structure is supported on driven piles with traditional concrete pile caps and ground beams.

    our sectors

Malcolm & I would like to thank yourself and Guy for working with us and our design team in delivering a superb finished product for FloPlast that we are very proud of and which has been much admired by our customers on site visits.  So far so good, we are finding our operational feet on the site and it all appears to be working well.

    - Bryan Lynch, Floplast

Knights Brown performed very well on this project in terms of quality, cost and time. The team worked very well as part of an integrated delivery team with the Employer to the benefit of the project

    - Marc Bryan, Portsmouth City Council

Sites are always very well presented. First impressions count and if a site looks well organised and clean when you arrive then generally this is applied throughout the management of the projects. Indeed, all five projects I am Cummins PM for, have been managed to a high standard and equally the safety records and standards are very good.

    - Iain Brooks, Cummins

Site staff were pleased to have had Knights Brown on the team, they were proactive from day one to the end towards potential issues and responsive to a changing site environment for works.
