Knights Brown was appointed to complete both phases of the works which in phase one comprised reconstruction of the highway to include new drainage and surfacing works and kerb realignment over a length of 250m. This allows for 25 cars to move around the site at any one time, in a dedicated lane.

Phase two works were for the construction of the household waste recycling centre, which included a seven-bin split level recycling facility, concrete service yard and storage areas, drainage, kerbing, fencing, ducts, draw pits, services and 22 car parking spaces.

We also built several retaining walls including a gabion retaining wall adjacent to the M3 boundary in the south west corner of the site.

Access to local businesses was maintained throughout and as part of the development, improvements were also undertaken to the cycleway and footpath leading to a popular nearby open space laid out with a BMX track and skateboard facilities.

    our sectors

Malcolm & I would like to thank yourself and Guy for working with us and our design team in delivering a superb finished product for FloPlast that we are very proud of and which has been much admired by our customers on site visits.  So far so good, we are finding our operational feet on the site and it all appears to be working well.

    - Bryan Lynch, Floplast

Knights Brown performed very well on this project in terms of quality, cost and time. The team worked very well as part of an integrated delivery team with the Employer to the benefit of the project

    - Marc Bryan, Portsmouth City Council

Sites are always very well presented. First impressions count and if a site looks well organised and clean when you arrive then generally this is applied throughout the management of the projects. Indeed, all five projects I am Cummins PM for, have been managed to a high standard and equally the safety records and standards are very good.

    - Iain Brooks, Cummins

Site staff were pleased to have had Knights Brown on the team, they were proactive from day one to the end towards potential issues and responsive to a changing site environment for works.
