    Site Manager - Southern Division

    We currently wish to recruit a site manager to join our Southern Division.

    The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a background of successfully delivering civil engineering projects of between £0.25m and £10m in value, working with both direct workforce and subcontractors.

    Responsibilities

    Generally:

    • Ensure that the site is run safely and cost-effectively.
    • Review and understand project requirements and identify ambiguities in advance. Prepare and submit relevant documents/requests – RFIs, TQs, CVs.
    • Understand risks and opportunities.
    • Represent and promote the company professionally.
    • Comply with company procedures including health and safety, quality and commercial management.

    Contractual/Commercial:

    • Effectively plan and resource site works.
    • Understand the contract requirements specifically about key dates and change management.
    • Prepare/assist site personnel in compiling site records.
    • Manage subcontractors.
    • Prepare monthly progress reports and cost forecasts and implement cost controls.

    Health & Safety and Environmental:

    • Adhere to legal requirements and company procedures.
    • Lead by example. Ensure all personnel are competent.
    • Identify changes to working methods that may be required and instigate.
    • Proactively seek to improve safety standards and promote a positive safety culture.
    • Minimise waste and energy consumption.

    People Management:

    • Proactively lead the team.
    • Recognise performance.
    • Motivate staff as necessary.
    • Maintain high standards of staff welfare facilities.
    • Promote learning and development needs of staff and self.

    This is a permanent role. Site hours: 7.30am-5.30pm.
