    CIVIL ENGINEERING AND GROUNDWORKS APPRENTICESHIP

This is an exciting new apprenticeship programme targeted at preparing young people and adults for a career in civil engineering occupations. We have been working with Fareham College in tailoring a programme that is right for the industry.

The Civil Engineering and Groundworks Apprenticeship (CEGA) will help you achieve the certification required to work with various types of construction equipment. If you are looking for a career out of doors, it could be for you.

The course has been designed to ensure you will be job-ready after a 20 week site preparation programme and every successful apprentice will be offered a full time, permanent position at the end of their apprenticeship. Knights Brown is one employer who will be accepting successful apprentices and we are looking to recruit for our February 2018 intake.

    Course Details

The apprenticeship lasts for two years, with the first 20 weeks spent at the Civil Engineering Training Centre in Lee-on-Solent undertaking intensive training to ensure you are fully qualified and ready to work on site. You will then spend the remainder of the apprenticeship supported by the business in full time employment, with regular visits from a Fareham College assessor who will review your progress.

As part of your initial 20 week training, you will obtain the following certifications and licenses, all essential for on-site employment:

    • CSCS card
    • CPCS card
    • Dumper license
    • Roller license
    • Abrasive wheels certification
    • Manual handling certification
    • CAT and Genny training
    • Banksman training

You will be paid from day one of your training and be eligible for a competitive reward package.

Full course details are available on the Fareham College website.

To apply please contact our HR Department.

    Closing date 8 January 2018
