The Cardiff Central Square development will create a modern transport interchange in the heart of the city centre. A redesigned highway layout will connect the railway station, bus interchange, enterprise zone, BBC development and Principality Stadium, with through traffic being removed from Westgate Street.

Access for pedestrians will be improved with the introduction of crossing facilities and reduced speed limits and an enhanced environment will be created outside the Principality Stadium.

A network of stepped cycle routes will connect the area with Castle Street and its proposed cycleway and the Taff Trail routes.

Tudor Street is adjacent and comprises similar regeneration works including paving, carriageway and traffic signals.

Both contracts are registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

    our sectors

Knights Brown was a great client to deal with. We felt from the very outset that they worked with us rather than for us, demonstrating real collaboration in order to minimise disruption to the port. The works were also delivered through a very challenging time, with the latter stages coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic. Their approach to this was thoroughly professional, with health and safety the primary consideration. Working practices were strictly amended and monitored, with the project completed to the satisfaction of all involved.

Knights Brown performed very well on this project in terms of quality, cost and time. The team worked very well as part of an integrated delivery team with the Employer to the benefit of the project

Malcolm & I would like to thank yourself and Guy for working with us and our design team in delivering a superb finished product for FloPlast that we are very proud of and which has been much admired by our customers on site visits.  So far so good, we are finding our operational feet on the site and it all appears to be working well.
