Knights Brown has appeared 52nd in this year’s listing of Solent 250 companies, up from 61 in 2020.
Companies included in the listing must by privately owned, independent businesses and be actively trading in the Solent region with their main headquarters located there. The Solent region is defined as most of Hampshire (south of Basingstoke) and parts of Dorset, Wiltshire and West Sussex.
Total combined turnover of businesses in the Solent 250 showed annual growth of 7.3%, up to £17.3bn. Solent 250 businesses employed an additional 4,439 people, increasing total employment to over 108,000, representing growth of 3%.
Construction represents the third largest sector with 34 businesses in the region, after retail (60) and manufacturing (39).
Among comparable businesses, Knights Brown is the third largest, privately owned and independent construction company in the Solent region with a turnover of £87.6m in the period.
